Honorarium Members

Win Anderson met Jack Lenor Larson in a small studio in Seattle and began designing and marketing textiles. They worked together for 25 years in New York's highly competitive fabric design market. She retired to Whidbey Island in 1977 to design and make textiles for her own use.

Frankie Bottinelli is an early member who spun with Lynn Murphy and Laura Vanderbeek.

Mary Black is highly educated in the fiber arts, she is an excellent judge, she is always sharing her expertise and her new ideas. She was our guild auctioneer for many years. Mention Navajo and her eyes glaze over. She also introduced us to Temari Balls.

Evelyn Boyd has been a valued member in many ways; she was treasurer, president, librarian, kitchen hostess, warped a loom for the Island County Fair almost every year and is a superb weaver.

Doris Macomber sat down at a loom and was hooked! She especially enjoyed pattern weaving. She was the energizing and organizing force of WWG and is one of the original members.

Lynn Murphy is an original member of WWG and formed the Spin-In with Laura Vanderbeek and Ann Meerkeerk. She was so hooked on spinning she started to raise her own sheep.

Suzanne Ramsey was our Chairman/Leader many years before we elected our first president in 1987. She is a charter member of Crazy 8's, she taught numerous techniques in mini-workshops. Ask her about a weave structure and she can tell you. She firmly believes in the guild as a fellowship where all members have equal acceptance.

Laura Vanderbeek is an early member of WWG. She started spinning with Lynn Murphy. They formed the Spin-In and started raising sheep. Laura was treasurer for years. She taught advanced knitting and beginning weaving. She was excellent at dying and spinning.
